Ayse Demir presented a paper on "How Does Financial Inclusion Affect Economic Growth, Income Inequality and Poverty?” at the meeting.

Delegates from SOAS School of Finance and Management attended the joint China-UK Trust Development Conference: Trust in Financial Service - Challenges and Solutions.
The conference was held at Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), Beijing, China, 15th June 2018. It has attracted a dynamic group of international audience that comprised scholars, young research students, practitioners and media representatives.
Reinhard Bachmann delivered the keynote speech on “Trust in Financial Service Industry”. Christine Oughton, Victor Murinde and Dr. Richard Alexander gave presentations on “Diversity in the provision of Financial Services: the D-Index and the Evolution of Financial Services in China”, “Trust in Household Portfolio Decisions” and “The Fight Against Market Abuse in the United Kingdom” respectively.
Summed by Prof Jianping Shi, Vice-President of CUFE, “This conference provides a great opportunity for financial experts from CUFE and SOAS to establish and maintain a close collaborative relationship, and together advance the research of finance”.
