Held on September 12-13 under the theme, China-Africa Economic Interactions: Past, Present, and Future, the conference attracted a diverse and engaged audience of over 130 participants representing 16 countries, 27 universities and 34 public and private organisations, both in person and online. High-level attendees included representatives from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Embassy of Brazil and the Zambia High Commission underscoring the global significance of the discussions, especially in light of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) 2024 in Beijing.

The two-day event attracted approximately 200 participants in total and was graced by keynote speeches from H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana on 8 September 2021 and Dr. Vera Songwe, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and the 9th serving Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) on 9 September 2021.
The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) has inaugurated a Nine-Member Policy and Advocacy Advisory Committee to serve as its advisory body. Mr Clement Osei-Amoako, the President of the Chamber speaking at the inaugural ceremony of members said the Chamber has played and continues to play a critical role in the growth and development of the private sector of Ghana.
Professor Joshua Yindenaba Abor, External Fellow of Centre for Global Finance and Co-I of the Inclusive Finance Project (ES/N013344/2), has called on African Governments to implement early and ambitious policy responses and reforms in their financial systems to minimise the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
