Salary: £37,360- £43,886 per annum (inc. LW) depending on experience

About the role
The main purpose of the AXA Chair in Global Finance and the SOAS Centre for Global Finance is to identify and monitor mega trends in global finance, which condition major developments in the world economy.
As Post-Doctoral Research Fellow you’ll create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of research activities within the Centre for Global Finance whilst supporting the research of the AXA Chair in Global Finance and the Director of the Centre for Global Finance.
As part of a global team researching the main issues in finance today across Europe, North America, African and Asia, you’ll be actively involved in the ‘cut and thrust’ of seminars, conferences and debates whilst celebrating new findings.
You’ll also lead build large-scale datasets to examine research questions relating to flow of funds and major developments in the world economy.
About you
An excellent communicator with a passion for research, you’ll be able to produce high quality documents from research outputs.
Enthusiastic and a highly motivated individual, you’ll also need to demonstrate your experience in:
Presenting information on research progress and outcomes, and communicating complex information, orally, and in writing
Communicating research findings of the Centre for Global Finance by writing papers for publication in top-tier academic journals
Applications of finance theory to investigate challenges faced by policy makers and private sector practitioners.
With a PhD (or if you are near completion of a PhD) in a relevant field including accounting, finance, or banking, plus an in-depth knowledge of finance theory and expertise in applied financial econometrics (including skills of data management and quantitative research methods).
