International Conference on Global FinTech Ecosystem and FinTech–Enabled Trade in Services

International Conference on Global FinTech Ecosystem and FinTech–Enabled Trade in Services

22 – 23 July 2024

Wivenhoe House, University of Essex

In a rapidly accelerating global FinTech revolution, countries and governments actively explore the multifaceted dynamics of FinTech-enabled financial services. One notable initiative in this regard is the UK India Fintrade project, a collaborative effort between the ESRC in the UK and ICSSR in India. This project brings together researchers from esteemed institutions such as the University of Essex, SOAS, and UCLAN, focusing on understanding the evolution of FinTech-enabled trade and FDI flows between the United Kingdom and India. By analysing patterns of trade, FDI and ecosystem in FinTech services between these two economies, the project offers important policy implications for governments aiming to foster innovation and growth in the sector. However, these efforts represent just a glimpse into the broader spectrum of research on FinTech, which spans across regions worldwide.

In light of these developments, this conference aims to bring together researchers, policymakers, private sector practitioners, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to engage in discussions, chart further research, identify emerging issues, and share knowledge and experiences related to the global financial system and the world economy. Ongoing research and preliminary findings will be debated, highlighting new methodological advances and exploring solutions for restoring global financial stability and economic sustainability.

This conference is free to attend. Registration is required: https://twimbit.typeform.com/to/LwNF6uZc?typeform-source=ukindiafintrade.com
